"Perseverance" - Anyone else ever feel like they're treading water? This year I took a leap of faith diving head first back into a FT photo career. I thought the roadmap for the year looked promising, but nothing panned out as I'd hoped. I have produced more work this year than the last 4 combined, while reigniting a drive to pursue my landscape work I thought I'd lost, yet my hope of reaching a wider audience and client base fell significantly short of my inital goals. As 2019 approaches, I find myself questioning my ability to stand out in the age of Instagram and the hordes of photographers that have been born from it. Did I do myself that great a disservice, putting my camera down for a couple years, that I'm now a day late and dollar short of making an honest living with my craft? I keep reminding myself 'it's only been a year', but the fear of an inevitable return do a desk job that once again pushes my passion to the side weighs heavy on me. Everyday I'm just doing my best to continue to persevere, hoping my efforts and my work will pay off.

"Reminisce" - Throwback to beauitful summer nights on the lake, which I already miss. The older I get the more I find I'm not a huge fan of snow or cold weather (though I will brave the freezing cold for some photo ops). When the sun beamed down from the clouds this particular evening and lit up Stansbury Island, I starting rapid shooting hoping to get some nice crisp gulls flying around. I ended up blending 4 shots to maximize the best birds.

Went for a hike last night hoping for a decent sunset. The clouds burned off before the chance of any color, but I was treated to some nice late afternoon light beforehand. Was cool to see Sundial from this perspective, too.
